The Holiday Break

I’m sure I’m not alone in remembering the joy and anticipation of the holiday break in school (not college, college always involved having a job, so there was never a full break). I won’t even get started on the joy of summer vacation.

Anyway, as the stress of the holidays ramps up this year, I’ve been a part of so many great writer related Twitter discussions and forums that have stressed mental health that it made me realize that even with my less stressful life at the moment, I still needed to keep this in mind. As one person I follow on Social Media pointed out (shout out to Mixtus Media), my readers will be there after the holidays as well.

With all of this in mind, I’ve decided to take the next two weeks off and focus on my own healing (long COVID is no joke, I can speak for nearly two years of experience now), and the health of my family. I’m going to use this down time, so to speak, to work out a better plan for next year. I need to analyze what has worked well for me this year in my push for self-publishing, and what I can improve on. Then, at the end of my holiday break, I’ll start to prepare all this to share with others. If there is one thing I am a firm believer in, it’s sharing and communicating with others. Hopefully, my fellow would-be writers can avoid a few mistakes this way.

In closing – here’ s a corgi to brighten your day. And to everyone who stumbles upon this blog, Happy Holidays!
